Libra Martin Tedrow will be filling the executive director position at United Way of Fostoria in January, according to Braden Hall, UWF president, following the retirement of current executive director, Evelyn Marker, at the end of this year.
Tedrow joined UWF in January 2017 as program coordinator for the newly created First Call For Help Fostoria, an informational and referral service. She developed and expanded the service to encompass community needs identification, client assistance with follow up support, and developing a growing volunteer program for community projects.
She serves on the board of the Getting Ahead in a Just Getting By World program and HOPE in Fostoria, a substance abuse education and prevention agency. She is a member of the Kaubisch Public Library board and the Fostoria Area Chamber of Commerce board. She helps coordinate several community initiatives including Christmas for Every Child, the semi-annual neighborhood cleanups with Habitat for Humanity and other partners, Fostoria’s network of Blessing Boxes and a variety of food drives and food distribution efforts.
Most recently she was instrumental bringing the Women’s Empowerment Program to Fostoria, opening community centers at Hope Lutheran Church and First Church of the Nazarene, and convening local ministers who are collaborating on several joint projects to support residents.
Marker is in her 11th year at the agency, during which she oversaw the formation of First Call For Help Fostoria, was part of the founding of HOPE in Fostoria, assisted in revitalizing the Senior Citizens Center, and ensured uninterrupted United Way services throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Evelyn’s leadership and dedication have strengthened our community in lasting ways,” Hall said. “We are confident that Libra will continue that momentum and guide United Way of Fostoria into its next chapter.”
