The United Way of Fostoria is accepting applications for 2024 Community Impact Grants through May 31. Impact Grants support a variety of programs in the fields of education, basic human needs, physical and mental health, and income stability.
Funds are available for startup projects, to expand existing successful programs and/or to meet unmet needs in the community. Successful applications will address a significant need in Fostoria.
This year the UWF has a special grant opportunity in recognition of a generous bequest from lifelong United Way supporter Laverne Anderson. In honor of her interests, grant proposals are being solicited in the areas of gardening, music programs, golf, swimming and playing bridge.
Recent Community Impact Grants have helped fund an expansion of the welding lab at Fostoria Learning Center, enabled St Vincent de Paul to provide 40-plus beds for Fostorians in need, and create a Staying Ahead program through the Getting Ahead in a Just Getting By World program.
Grant application forms are available by contacting the United Way office at 105 S. Main St, or 419-435-4484, or emailing admin1@uwfostoria.org.
